电子邮件(Email)是目前在互联网上使用最为广泛的服务项目。它为人们提供了更为快捷的通信方式,也已经成为现在人们(尤其是职场上)不可缺少的信息传输方法。
英语作为目前最广为使用的媒介语之一,那在用英语寄电子邮件时该注意什么细节呢?让我们透过这些细节,让别人对我们留下好印象。

(X)IF YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, PEOPLE WOULD THINK YOU ARE SHOUTING YOUR MESSAGE.
(O)If you type in all capital letters, people would think you are shouting your message.
全部大写的句子不但难读,还带来一种粗鲁感。在银行工作的Jack就说,他以前都用大写字母写email,有一次收到客户回信:” Why did you yell at me?”很尴尬。
(X)i’ve attached my resume i would be grateful if you could read it and get back to me at your earliest convenience.
(O)I’ve attached my resume. I would be grateful if you could read it and get back to me at your earliest convenience.
所有字母都小写,感觉就像”chatting with your friends”,像跟朋友说话一样,不正式。 Email本来就不像手写书信那样正式,但职场礼仪,同事、客户、伙伴之间的交谈,也不宜” sloppy” 马虎。

(O)Can you send that to me?
大部份人都知道email要礼貌,矫枉过正,经常流于太有礼貌,太多客套赘述。反而影响别人对你的观感,觉得你虚假,或者没自信。
你一定有这样的经验,e-mail发了,却发现忘了附件。一旦发现错误,可以在subject line里写:corrected version with attachment included.这个记住了非常好用。
